Frequently asked questions
- Is Sale Solar the business doing the work?
No. Sale Solar is an enquiry and referral website run by Yes Right Pty Ltd. It does not install or repair solar or batteries. Your enquiry goes to an independent local provider, which decides whether to take the job and gives you its own quote. Any contract, payment and warranty is between you and that provider.
- Which areas around Sale can I send an enquiry from?
Enquiries are accepted from Sale and nearby Wellington Shire towns such as Wurruk, Maffra, Stratford, Longford, Heyfield, Rosedale and Loch Sport. Whether a provider will travel to your address is up to that provider.
- Who must install solar panels or a battery in Victoria?
A licensed electrician working for a Registered Electrical Contractor, registered with Energy Safe Victoria. To claim the federal small-scale certificates, the installer also needs Solar Accreditation Australia accreditation, and batteries need a battery endorsement. You can check both on the public registers before you sign.
- Is there still a Victorian rebate for solar panels?
Solar Victoria still offers a Solar Homes rebate for solar panels, with an optional interest-free loan, for eligible owner-occupiers and some rental properties. The current arrangements stay in place until 30 June 2027, when household solar support moves into the Victorian Energy Upgrades program. Solar Victoria is no longer taking applications for its battery loans; battery discounts now come through the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program.
- What should I include in a solar or battery enquiry?
Your suburb, whether you already have solar (and its size and age if you know them), your roof type, a photo of your switchboard and meter box, and a recent power bill. Say whether you want backup power during outages, as that changes the inverter and battery design.
- Does sending the form book an installer?
No. The form starts an enquiry only. A provider will contact you if it can help, and timing, price and scope are agreed with that provider. Do not use the form for an emergency such as smoke or a burning smell from solar equipment; keep clear and call 000.
Ready to start?
Tell us about your roof, your bills and any system you have now. An installer has to confirm the design and when they can start.
